Stair Climbing!
L.I.: Can I explain the benefits of exercise?
Read below and try to remember at least 3 benefits of climbing the stairs:
Task 1:
Without looking at the previous slide, go and find another person and tell them at least 3 benefits of stair climbing!
(You can video this too, or write it down if you like!)
Task 2:
Watch the teacher’s videos on the next slide and then try to complete as many of the challenges as possible.
If you do not have access to a staircase, you can use a ledge or box at home, or even complete on flat ground using high knees!

Task 2 Stair Challenge (written version of the video)
Remember: You can do these altogether in one go; with rests; or add them up over the week days...it’s completely up to you!\
Task 3: What happens to my body when I exercise?
Can you explain at least 3 short term changes to your body when it is exercising?
Short term = Lasting only a little while, and not permanent.
Clues:
Put your hand on your heart - how does it feel?
Put your hand on your forehead - any changes?
Are you breathing differently? In what 2 ways has your breathing changed?
Look at your T-Shirt,especially under the arms! Notice anything?
Task 4:
List as many benefits of exercise as you can. Can you remember any from Task 1 today?
Name at least 3 short term changes to the body that happen while we exercise. If you are not sure, you can also do some research to find out!
Send in your great work to the Primary PE department, using this link. (Clips must be under 1 min (10MB)
We would love to see a video of you explaining the benefits and short term effects of exercise; or a photo of your written answers; along with some evidence of your stair challenges too! We look forward to seeing all your hard work!
