What is Generative AI?

• GenAI is a kind of AI that is trained on huge data sets, which it uses to generate new text, audio, or images.
• Natural Language Processing (NLP) is GenAI that draws from "Large Language Models” (LLMs) to generate text and speech outputs.”
• Examples: ChatGPT, Copilot, LLaMA2, DALL-E, Gemini, Ernie Bot, Claude, Clova X, others are emerging

What is a prompt?

• A prompt, in the world of generative AI, typically consists of a clear and specific instruction or query that guides the AI's output.
• Example: "Write a short story about a young inventor who discovers a hidden technology in an abandoned lab, leading to an unexpected adventure in a futuristic city. Include themes of curiosity, resilience, and friendship."

What AI tools are out there? How do they work?

Chat GPT:

ChatGPT is an AI that can generate human-like text responses, making it useful for brainstorming ideas, answering questions, drafting content, or even role-playing in educational or creative projects.

Claude:

Claude is an AI similar to ChatGPT, designed to assist with generating text, answering questions, or offering creative suggestions, often used in drafting emails, reports, or project plans.

Using Slack Threads

1. Find the relevant Slack channel
2. Hover over the post you want to reply to
3. Click the “Threads” icon

• A Thread will open in the sidebar
• Reply using the chatbox at the bottom right
• Do not select the “also send to” option

Using Slack Threads

Send your message by typing in text and then clicking the send button at the bottom right of the chatbox.

Click the “+” button on the bottom left to attach media including screenshots and files. Select the “Upload from your computer option to search for the relevant file.

You can include Google Docs links as needed – ensure that you adjust share settings before sending so that anyone with the link can view the file.
