Design tips

  • Each slide must include as little text as possible. Don’t be afraid to leave some free space – it’s just as important as images or text.
  • The text should be readable.
  • Make an emphasis on the most important things by highlighting key words – use different font colors or colorful backdrops; use bold or italic formatting.
  • Avoid “orphaned/stranded” prepositions at the end of a line – make sure to move them to the start of the next line.

  • Induce an emotional response from your audience by using relevant images.
  • Only use high-quality images.
  • Images must be used in accordance with copyright.
  • Whenever possible, replace lists and tables with infographics and diagrams. If a table is required, make it as simple and as accessible to the audience as possible.
