Backing Up Your iPad

In order to maintain an appropriate amount of space on your iPad, get in the habit of backing up content.

Apps to Back Up

  • Photos and Videos
  • Popplet
  • Toontastic
  • iMovie
  • Keynote
  • Pages
  • Book Creator
  • Explain Everything

Pictures and Videos

-Go to Google Drive app

-Tap the plus sign in top right corner

-Click “Upload Photos or Videos”

-If needed, allow access your Camera Roll

-Select and tap all photos or videos you would like to save

-Tap the blue checkmark.

Popplet

  • Open the Popplet you want to back up.
  • Tap Export and select Save JPEG.
  • Once your picture is saved to camera roll, go to Google Drive and upload it.

Toontastic

  • Tap the up arrow below the project you want to save. This will save the project as a video in your camera roll.
  • Once your video is saved to camera roll, go to Google Drive and upload it.

iMovie

  • Tap on the movie you want to save.
  • Tap up arrow and tap save video.
  • Select HD - 1080p.
  • Once your video is saved to camera roll, go to Google Drive and upload it.

Keynote

  • On main page, tap up arrow and select “Open in Another App.”
  • Tap the presentation you want to back up.
  • Select Keynote or PDF. ***
  • Tap Choose app and select Google Drive.
  • Tap Upload to confirm and upload project.

***If you choose Keynote, you will be able to download the project back into Keynote for editing.

***If you choose PDF you will be able to view but not edit.

Pages

  • On main page, tap up arrow and select “Open in Another App.”
  • Tap the presentation you want to back up.
  • Select Pages or PDF. ***
  • Tap Choose app and select Google Drive.
  • Tap Upload to confirm and upload project.

***If you choose Pages, you will be able to download the project back into Pages for editing.

***If you choose PDF you will be able to view but not edit.

Book Creator

  • Tap on the up arrow below the project you want to save.
  • Select ePub, PDF, or Video.
  • Tap “Open in” and select Google Drive.
  • Tap Upload to confirm and upload project.

***Only ePubs can be opened in Book Creator for editing.

Explain Everything (one simple slide)

  • Tap on first icon in bottom right of screen.
  • Select Photo to Camera Roll.
  • Once your picture is saved to camera roll, go to Google Drive and upload it.

Explain Everything (multiple slides)

  • Tap on second icon in bottom right of screen.
  • Select Movie to Camera Roll.
  • Once your movie is saved to camera roll, go to Google Drive and upload it.

Explain Everything (project)

  • Tap on third icon in bottom right of screen.
  • Select Google Drive.
  • Make sure “Project” is selected and tap Export.

***You will be able to download this project into Explain Everything to edit it.
