Structure

  • TTRPG - Table Top Role-Playing Game
    • Played over a table (traditionally)
    • You take on the role of a character that plays in a story
  • The Dungeon Master and the Players are all authors, and the point of D&D is the co-creation of a captivating story that leaves all participants happy.

The Dungeon Master

  • Among many things, the DM is in charge of the setting, the over-arching plot, the NPCs (nonplayer characters), balance, and rules mitigation.

The Players

  • Each player will have their own tailored character with strengths, weaknesses, and objectives.
  • They are the main protagonists to the story.

What does play look like?

  • The DM presents the narrative with obstacles, and the player uses their strengths and weaknesses to try and overcome the obstacles.
  • When facing a challenge, a player will roll a 20-sided die to determine level of success or failure.
