Premise

This is the basic premise of the Campaign. Events within sessions are to vary.

Homebrew Notice

This is not an OGL-Approved Campaign, and never will be.

This campaign will be played numerous times, with different outcomes. One party may succeed in confronting Zoa, others may not.

*The story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed are fictitious. No identification with actual persons (living or deceased), places, buildings, and products is intended or should be inferred.*

As well as the above notice, some homebrew rules may be used, upon the party’s consent:

  • One-Roll Initiative
    • This will provide a smoother experience, especially within combat situations, where the player who initiates the combat rolls against the GM, with the higher roll acting first. The player’s roll will count as the party’s roll.
  • Alternative use of Hit Points
    • “Hit Points” will be handled differently, Critical Attacks will not be instant hits, as the creature’s AC Score (AC-10=AC Score) will be considered. Armor will work as actual armor, not just cosmetics that raise AC.

Zoa Tholtz - Extraplanar Deity of Death

Zoa Tholz has gone by many names, with the second most popular being The Lady Death. A mysterious being, he has no expressed goal or mission, all that is known that he is not to be trifled with. He has been known to toy with the minds of the people who have encountered him, making him appear as an ally and sending them to certain death.

He has been best known for sparing an Avatar, albeit torturing him some.

“The only way out is to join me or die. Either way, You’re mine.”

Zachary Hancock - Great Colonial Revolutionary

Within the Throes of the Revolution, one man stood at the sidelines, not expressly showing favor to either side of the conflict. This man was Zach Hancock.

Little is known about him, aside from a superstition: All who have associated themselves with him have wound up dying in strange ways. This has also remained unexplained, though the phenomenon has followed him since birth.

“Give a man a Dollar, he’ll buy some food; Give him Industry, he’ll have a way of life.”

Tsuakimi - Lorekeeper of Nyen (Terranean)

The helpful lorekeeper and manager at the small restaurant, Tsuakimi has provided a lot of aid around the small City-State of Nyen. His help has granted him a dedicated spot within the City Office as lorekeeper, a historian of the city, keeping its past alive.

Not much aside from his popularity in Nyen, but there are rumors floating that he has some form of personal connection with Zoa Tholz, but the rumors are inconsistent with how.

“You know; it’s nice living in the Bright Side, who knows what fun you’ll have!”

Lexori Thamni - Aid and Minor Protagonist

The beautiful young Succubus Lexori has been given a life-long pact with Zoa, in which she is given the knowledge of the Multiverse, in exchange for his hand in eternal entanglement.

Lexori also has expertise in mechanical engineering, having built numerous large automatons for the residents of Nyen, where she had taken as her own home.

“If you ever need anything, I can help you out, so long as it’s not weird.”

Leiah Fontaine - Agent of Zoa’s Rule

Not much is known about this individual. All that is known is she’s been seen destroying journals and documents. Most of them are connecting Zoa to other people, such as Zach and Tsuakimi.

She has also been seen forming portals to other realms in the year 342 VK. What she was doing in those realms remains unknown. She is to be approached with caution. Don’t let her seductive mannerisms get to you.

“Don’t go snooping around in places where you don’t belong.”

The King of Scarlet - Chaos Deity of the Great Hells

A being of pure chaos energy. Not to be confronted. No man has survived his presence, aside from one ‘Chosen One,’ who has seemingly ‘fused’ his own being with the creature’s. That man’s name has yet to be revealed by F.A.R.

Alternative names for this creature are also being withheld from public knowledge.

Techno-City - The City of Technological Excellence

A city of great accomplishment, Techno-City has become the home base of Zoa Tholz and his underground legion of chaos, with killers, thieves, and con-artists being in league with him.

Techno-City was formed as a means of accelerating technological advancement, with little to no restrictions to the inventors residing within. Due to this, however, the City has become a hub for numerous black markets and countless corrupt organizations centered on exploiting science and technology in order to garner a profit.

“No Capitalism, No Communism, Only Progress.”

- City motto (c. 2080 NK)

The province of Nyen, Terran - A Peaceful Nation

Nyen is a small province within the realm of Terran. Considered as a city-state, Nyen is called home by a pleasant community of cat-folk, led by an equally pacifistic Goliath by the name of Tony.

The native currency is the Doubloon, a small coin-shaped piece of metal, often seen as scraps by neighboring provinces. The Doubloon, however, has formed a strong economy within Nyen, empowering some foreign residents to bring technology and other industries into the province.

“Here, we be as we do and live as it be, peaceful and calm.”

-Tsuakimi, Lorekeep (taken from notes, c. 928 VK)

Surrealus - The Eldritch Nightmare

Surrealus, as the name would suggest, is surreal. With its uncanny beings and horrific figures lurking in every shadow, hidden deep below ground, and submerged far underwater. These beings are seen as Deitel figures in several cultures within this realm, namely within an occult sort of means.

Though hundreds of millions of beings call this realm home, they all stay to themselves, straying away from the deep and dark of their lands.

“This world has its secrets. Sometimes, it’s best they stay hidden.”

- Halbrand Philips Laufston, Anomalous Beings Researcher, F.A.R (c. 1936 VK)

16 of 21

The Facility of Anomalous Research - The Eldritch Future

Somewhere in Surrealus lay an expansive research lab filled with anomalous materials and beings. Not much is known about The Facility, aside from them holding the most disastrous of anomalies, great and small, and have them all categorized and catalogued. Time seems to have no meaning inside its walls.

Zoa should be in here, but for some unknown reason, he has evaded their capture. The King of Scarlet is secured, though that may only be a rumor.

“At F.A.R, we only have what we can force in. Everything, and everyone, else is out back.”

- F.A.R tagline, date unknown

The Compound - The Endless Labyrinth

“Little is known about this location. Every attempt at research has wound in loss of personnel and presumed deaths. We need to find a way to alleviate that issue before we send any more people in. Doctor Zan will not be happy about this plan, but it’s the only way for us not to fall apart doing this pet project of his. The Compound doesn’t seem to want people there.”

- Dr. Elliot Sawyer, F.A.R Researcher

Project Compound

(internal memo found six days after disappearance, c. 2022 NK)

The Dreamlands -The Realm of Dreams & Nightmares

“Chan eil e dìreach a’ dèanamh ciall. Tha, tha fios agam gur e mo bhruadar a th’ ann, a Dhotair, ach cha bu chòir dha a bhith mar seo.”

- Unknown F.A.R Subject (c. 1946 NK)

(translation: It just doesn't make sense. Yes, I know it's my dream, Doctor, but it shouldn't be like this.)

The Colonial Empire - All “Horror Films” are Real

The modern-day realm in which Zach resides. Unfortunately, the city in which he had founded, Grauston, has been greatly affected by the believed curse of tragedy and death.

Other Cities and Countries have recorded dramaticized reenactments of countless tragedies that have befallen Grauston. These films have been considered too graphic for most audiences, aside from those above the age of adulthood.

“The only place where the Horrors are true here. Best way to engage? Don’t.”

- Zachary Hancock, 1832 NK

The Otherworlds

This is a set of locations that connect this campaign with numerous other stories and worlds. The Otherworlds contains other Campaigns, short stories, novels, novellas, etc.

“May the adventures be great, even in the worst of times.”
