The exam room 1: equipment

✔ Equipment : black ball point pens, an HB pencil, eraser, ruler, calculator, protractor, transparent pencil case or bag, transparent water bottle, no label. Your school bag must remain outside the room.

✘ Devices: mobile devices are not allowed in exams. Before the exam you must hand in any smartphone, smart watch or other device to the invigilator in switched off mode. Wristwatches should be removed during the exam and handed in.

The exam room 2: seats and times

  • The room and seat are allocated to you for each exam.
  • Your full name and candidate code are written on a card,

which is placed on your desk for each exam.

  • The desks are distanced to comply with exam regulations.
  • The subject, start time and finish time are displayed on the board.
  • There is a clock in the room.
  • Students MAY NOT leave an exam before the finish time.

The exam room 3: during the exam

  • Once in the exam room, exam conditions apply.
  • You must not speak to or communicate with any other candidate.
  • You should raise your hand to attract the attention of the invigilator.
  • You may go out of the room to the toilet if necessary; you will be accompanied by a member of the invigilation team.
  • You may ask for extra paper if there is not enough space on the paper provided. Write your name, code and the question number on the paper. Attach the paper to your answer booklet using a treasury tag. For Cambridge exams, an additional answer booklet is provided.

Late or absent

AM exam sessions: Students should be in school by 8.45

PM exam sessions: Students should be in school by 13.15

  • If you are late or absent please inform the school secretary, 06 308 6001,

the exams officer examinations@stgeorge.school.it or your Head of Year as soon as possible.

  • If you are little late you may still enter the exam.
  • If you are very late you may not be able to do the exam paper.
  • In case of oversleeping and misreading the timetable you will not be given time after the finish time.
  • The most important thing is to get in touch with school so that we can monitor the situation.

It is NOT possible to sit the exam on a different day.

Special consideration for absences may apply in some circumstances.

Results days and accessing results online

You will receive a login for Edexcel and Cambridge*.

These will be uploaded to your folder where your statements of entry are.

On the afternoon of Edexcel exam results release, the school will issue a grade card to your parents for all exams.

*A small number of pupils don’t do any Cambridge subjects

The last day of formal teaching

The last day of formal teaching for Year 11 is Friday 3rd May 2024.

Studying in school and revision lessons

During study leave students can, at any time, come into school to revise in the library.

  • There will be targeted revision sessions in school.
  • The full timetable of sessions will be published to students after the Easter break.

Signing in and out

There will be no morning registration. Students must sign in and out at the main security office and proceed directly home once they have left the school premises.

If you are ill

Illness.

Please have a parent or guardian inform reception of your absence.

If a student is ill for an exam, please contact the examinations officer on this email: examinations.officer@stgeorge.school.it

Where possible and on receipt of an official medical certificate, we will apply for “special circumstances” to the examination board.

Dress Code

After the 9th May students are not required to wear school uniform but are required to wear clothing in line with the schools sixth form uniform policy - which is below. Please note, however, that Year 11 students must come in full school uniform for the last day of school on Friday 23th June.

Sixth Form Dress Code Policy

The expectation is that students are smart yet comfortable and ready for a day of focused learning:

Tops may include plain t-shirts, polo shirts, smart tops (without big logos or writing).

Tops should cover the torso.

Clothes should be approximately knee length- shorts, skirts and dresses.

No sportswear (unless on days when students are taking part in sport).

Accessories should be discreet.
