Relationships: I build relationships with peers, staff, and community members through trust and mutual respect. I believe in supporting those around me

Open-mindedness: I contribute to our school being a Safe Place for everyone through supporting the well-being of all. I believe that I and my community can transform only by growing the capacity for empathy.

Anti Racist and Inclusive School: I am an agent of change and work to understand how I can and will disrupt systems of oppression and bigotry in all levels of community.

Responsible: I cultivate ways in which I can consistently improve my school and community by utilizing my strengths and passions. I learn from failures and risks to innovate and relentlessly aim towards success, development, and greatness.

Attendance Matters!

Our attendance expectation for all Bear Valley students is to maintain an overall attendance percentage of 92% or higher.

  • This means a student can only miss 14 days total throughout the school year.
  • All tardies count against this percentage as well.
  • We will be having monthly attendance celebrations and awards to celebrate high attendance and attendance growth!
  • Please CALL (720-423-9600) or email (bvoffice@dpsk12.org) the front office if your student will be absent
  • Excused absences still count against a student’s overall attendance percentage

Learning is our priority. This policy is in place in order to maximize instruction time and minimize distractions.

  • When students enter the building, all cell phones and any other electronics should be powered off and put locked in lockers. Cell phones and personal tech should not be seen during the school day.
    • Phone privileges at lunch may be earned as a grade level.
  • If a family is concerned that this is not a secure location, please keep the phone at home.
  • Students are able to use the front office courtesy phone after school. If you need to get in contact with your student, please call the front office
  • After a 3rd incident of a student having a phone out during class, the family will be required to pick up the phone from the front office at the end of the day.

PASS Class, Lunch Service, & Lunch Repair

An opportunity to take accountability and repair harm!

  • Lunch Service is Bear Valley’s alternative to lunch detention. It provides our students with a space to give back to our school community through community service related activities during lunch.
  • Lunch Repair: Lunch and/or Recess with a teacher to connect and repair.
  • You will be notified by admin or RCT the day before if your student has been assigned PASS class or lunch service for the following day(s).
