Personal Fitness

Personal fitness is a balance of eating well, exercise and getting proper rest. What you eat is what your body is able to turn into energy and can keep your body working to keep you healthy. Exercise not only keeps your body working, it also is good for your mind. Your body needs rest, and so does your mind.

Spring Camp Out– 03/22

Our Spring Camp Out will be on 03/22 @ Bear’s Den in Bluemont, VA. Below are a few of the key details related to the Camp Out:

When: 03/22 @ 1pm to 9/10am on 03/23

Where: Bear’s Den – 18393 Blue Ridge Mountain Rd, Bluemont VA 20135

Campsite Location: Pavilion and Camp Site By Lodge, Parking is Limited

Sign-Up: Form and payment info ($7 per person) is available on the Pack website (www.pack998.com). Registration is closed.

Health Form: All scouts must complete the form (no longer collected)

Menu: Dinner will be pizza with salad. Breakfast will be muffins, fruit and oatmeal. We will also have snacks and s’mores.

Activities: Saturday Afternoon – Hike & Games & Den Activities

Saturday Night – Dinner, Campfire, S’Mores & Skits

Sunday Morning – Breakfast & Hike (Optional)

Every April we hold a Field Day with the original intent to complete some Lion & Tiger Adventures. With the new optional adventures there are activities for all our Scouts to come and have fun.

When: 04/27 @ 10am – 11:30ish

Where: Cool Springs Elementary (Playground and Track)

PARENTS UPDATES

Below are few important topics for parents. Upcoming events can be found on our Pack Website – www.pack998.com.

• Pack Shirts – Jarrod made a new Pack Shirt at Rust Library that if acceptable will only cost $6 per shirt and can be made as needed. Assuming the shirt is acceptable we will take orders in August, since we are close to the end of this Scouting “Year”, and make them at the same time as those for new Scouts joining the Pack.
• Camp Cards – The Pack has Camp Cards for sale @ $10 each. We will also be selling cards and collecting donations outside the Tractor Supply Company on April 6^th, the times are TBD.
• Summer Camp – NCAC has announced the dates for their Day and Twilight Camps (06/23-06/27 for Day and 06/23-06/26 for Night) @ Murray Hill. • Leadership Transition Planning – Entering the 2025/2026 Scout Year we are looking to ensure we have strong leadership moving forward including a succession plan for Cubmaster and Den Leaders. More details to be provided prior to our Pack Planning Call on April 7^th.
