“Prepare me for learning: relax my body and quieten my thoughts and emotions so I am in an optimum state for learning.”

Why is Jigsaw the ‘mindful’ approach to PSHE?

What is mindfulness?

Are you in charge of your mind or is it in charge of you? (Understanding what mental health actually is).

Recognising what is going on internally and externally at a given moment.

Paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non judgmentally.

Opportunities to press the pause button and choose your response to a situation rather than simply reacting.

Helping children learn how to self regulate - to be in control of their own behaviour/ their responses to other people.
