Volunteer Expectations

  • Build rapport by being supportive & caring
  • Keep personal items out of reach of students
  • Be considerate of staff & teacher’s time & attention
  • Be fully present and positive
  • Role model good speaking skills and speak with kindness
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students
  • Avoid being alone with students & avoid physical contact
  • Never give medicine, lotion, gifts or candy to students
  • Take your concerns to the teachers
  • Report any types of perceived abuse to the teacher & principal
  • Student behavior and performance observed is confidential
