The school

The institute was very well organised and focused on musical practice and theory: I had the opportunity to play every day, participate in various group activities and attend lessons given by highly competent teachers. The environment was stimulating and supported the artistic and personal growth of each student. The relationship between students and teachers was very friendly, and classes were small, which I think is an advantage.

the host family and Spanish friends

During this month, I met some wonderful people: classmates, teachers and the families who hosted me. I hope to stay in touch with many of them in the future. I became very attached to my host family and got used to their lifestyle. Being an only child, being hosted by a large family was wonderful; I immediately felt like part of the family. I was very happy to have found myself in a kind-hearted and friendly family with which I felt very comfortable and never lonely.

At first, the language was a bit of a problem, but by listening to the lessons and living with my host family, I managed to improve my Spanish. Talking to local people helped me to become more confident and fluent. This experience had a very positive impact on my musical and personal development. I improved my technical and interpretative skills, but above all, I learned to manage situations and adapt. This experience made me realise how important it is to put yourself out there and step outside your comfort zone in how much you grow.
