What is articulation?

  • Dual enrollment vs Articulation
    • Dual enrollment means you are an actual student at two schools and earn credit concurrently- you earn whatever grade you earn in the HS course; Articulation is a course at the HS that has been reviewed and matches a class offered at the Community College; by following the enrollment process, if you pass the class with a B or higher BOTH semesters, the class will appear on your Mission College transcript as if you earned credit for it at the College
  • You may continue your education at Mission while attending HS or after high school OR you may simply utilize your Mission transcript with completed courses for college applications
  • Course will appear on Mission transcript at the END of JULY and it will detail it was an articulated course
  • Earn credits for HS graduation, earn Community College credit and enhance your college application!

Note to Seniors

  • As you complete college applications, it will be up to YOU if your want to include your enrollment in the course your senior year on your apps
    • Pros: It demonstrates responsibility to potential colleges
    • Cons: The grade will not show up on your Mission College Transcript until July; most colleges request all transcripts by June 30th.

You may want to research the guidelines from each college you are applying to before deciding how to approach it.

Clarifications about CATEMA Articulation

  • This is NOT dual enrollment nor concurrent enrollment - you are NOT officially enrolled in Mission College but you do end up with Mission College credit
    • You only get credit if you earn a “B” or better; if you earn a B- or lower, this class will not appear on your Mission College transcript
  • Due to the school calendar at Mission, this credit will appear in July of that school year and not earlier - as if you took it in the summer
  • You have nothing to lose by enrolling in the process
  • Because we use CATEMA, you earn credit in July once class completed

If you would like to potentially earn College Credit for the class you are currently enrolled in...

  • PHHS Introduction to Business > Mission College Bus51 Intro to American Business
  • PHHS Computer Graphic Design > Mission College GDS35 Beg Graphic Design
  • PHHS Web Page Design > Mission College GDS45 Web Page Design
  • PHHS Insane Ink/Entrepreneurship > Mission College Bus54 Small Business Start Up

You can NOT earn credit for classes taken in the past. Enrollment in CATEMA must be done at the same time the course is being completed.

Articulation is not retroactive.

If you took Intro to Business last year, you may NOT earn credit now unfortunately.

BUT register for your current class NOW!

Dual Enrollment at Evergreen College

Insane Ink students have the option to earn credit through Evergreen College also by taking Insane Ink - Unlike articulation, you get whatever grade you earn and Mrs. Pereira is a EVC Faculty Member so it is as if you are taking the class at the EVC campus - grades are posted as soon as the semester ends.
