The Small Changes Whānau Challenge was created to help you do something small everyday to improve your health and wellbeing - while having fun as a family!

Connecting with the people around us, moving, nourishing and appreciating our bodies can help us feel happier and healthier. We have lots of fun ideas for small things that you can include in your daily life - from playing a board game

Water Bottle Flip Challenge

  • Step 1: You want to grab a water bottle that is about one quarter full.
  • Step 2: Hold it by the neck of the bottle.
  • Step 3: Flick the bottle by rotating it away from you.
  • Step 4: Watch the bottle land upright.

Watch the video and work your way through the 3 different flipping challenges.

Make sure the lid is on tight!!

Create a board game of emotions

  • Create a board game using snakes and ladders as the model but change it to up’s for ladders and down’s for slides relating to emotions.
  • Create a card pack that has up’s and down’s ideas for when you land on ladders or slides.

Up’s E.g Give another word for happiness and an example of what makes you happy?

Down’s E.g Give another word for sad and say one thing that would help you get back to your happy place? If solution said can move on with the game, if not miss a turn.
