How to Set-up at your School

  1. Socialize at your school: share this free recycling program and ask questions to gauge interest.
    1. Interested in setting this up at your school?
    2. Location(s) to set-up in the school: main office, lunchroom, other suggestions?
    3. Can families drop-off candy wrappers from home to recycle?
    4. Person or team to set-up and oversee the candy wrapper recycling at your school.
    5. Timeline for setting up, promoting and sending back the recycling box to Rubicon.
  2. Order free candy wrapper recycling box(es) from Rubicon. Let us know you’re participating here.
  3. Spread the word at your school: staff, students and families. Social media / email graphics,
  4. Set-up recycling box(es) at your school. Printable flyers (english & spanish)
  5. When boxes are full or at end of the Fall season, tape the box(es) shut and use the pre-affixed shipping label to mail back the recycling box to Rubicon for recycling.
  6. Rubicon recycles the candy wrappers, learn more how candy wrappers start their Second Life as part of the circular economy.
  7. Each participating school will receive a Certificate of Recycling, confirming how many wrappers their school diverted from the landfill.
  8. Share positive impact with with your school: staff, students and families!

Trash or Treasure: Candy Wrapper Recycling

This year after the Halloween treats have been gobbled up, you can save those empty candy wrappers from the landfill and recycle them with our Trash or Treasure Recycling box. Let’s do our part to keep our planet clean and recycle all those candy wrappers! Beginning on <insert date> through <insert date>, students can bring in empty candy wrappers and add them to our Trash or Treasure recycling box which will be in <insert school location(s)>.
