TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION�OUTLOOK ADD-IN ARCHITECTURE

What we built:

  • Office Add-in that operates within Outlook's task pane, registered through the add-in manifest located in appPackage/ and bundled using webpack. No separate website to be deployed or required.
  • Frontend stack: HTML, JavaScript, CSS with a small amount of TypeScript, packaged by webpack.config.js.
  • Workflow: User uploads a test sheet -> we parse rows locally in the add-in -> filter by Accepted / Tentative / Declined -> preview the tally -> copy emails for a quick paste into the event
  • Why this matters: everything happens inside Outlook, so coordinators don’t context switch to spreadsheets or other apps.
