Internet Our Studio

Principle #1

Everything we produce is public, unless there is a good reason for it not to be. There is no “online world” and “real world” - everything on the internet is real. (Some might argue things become real only when they’re online)

Internet Our Studio

  • Is there anything that can support better collaboration IRL and URL?
  • How could we share all the insights we create with the world?
  • How can we stay connected and operate as #OneStudio?
  • Have we been comfortable working collectively so far? What could be improved?

Radical Collaboration

Principle #2

  • Search for those you would not find in your natural habitat. The lion and the whale work well together.
  • Trust in your own ideas and that you have something to add to the group
  • Let go of ownership
  • Radical collaboration requires radical listening
  • It requires immediacy and solutions in the present moment.

Radical Collaboration

  • Find something you don’t understand and reach out to someone who can explain it to you
  • step outside from your comfort zone
  • work with people over long-distances
  • seek inspiration from podcasts, online galleries and creative spaces
  • anonymous collaboration over one purpose (unlikely pairs)
  • create new platforms for idea sharing
  • explore grassroots movements and activism-driven collaboration

Radical Collaboration

  • How do we feel about the way we’ve worked collaboratively?
  • Have we had the chance to explore out of our comfort zones?
  • How did the Learning Partner Experiences helped with that?
  • How could we reach to potential collaborators out there and involve them in the Studio?
  • How do we feel about ownership and belonging?

  • DRIVER, ENTHUSIASM AND PASSION

  • Empowering yourself and finding the truth core of who you are

  • Aligning with others to build communities

  • Not an end goal; but a journey of discovery and continually evolving

Purpose

  • How have we been transformed after these learning experiences?
  • Is our purpose still the same or has it evolved?
  • Did this halfway point of the Studio meet your expectations? If not, what did you miss?
  • What themes what would you like to explore and push further?
  • How could we connect with others to build purpose-driven communities?

Optimistic Criticality

Openness is being receptive to ideas and seeing the possibilities.

Positivity is understanding before judging and building upon a constructive basis.

Rationality is a selective and contextual process.

Analytical decision making is implementing pragmatic approaches in order to achieve positive goals.

Opportunity is manifesting and exploring where we can take our ideas.

Optimistic Criticality

  • How do we feel about the post-technologic themes we’ve touched upon?
  • How can we transcend the focus on technology and explore the spiritual and human layer of the topics?
  • Do we feel tooled up to critically think about the existing narratives around these themes?
  • Did the sessions help us learn new methods to face today’s and futures’ challenges?
  • How could we share these tools with our network and spread Optimistic Criticality all over the world?

Cooperation Not Competition

Playing on each other’s strengths.

Breaking down boundaries which separate us.

You can have the space to feel empowered.

Listen to voices - big and small.

A Network of knowledge.

14 of 21

Cooperation Not Competition

  • Making sure spaces aren’t exclusive, create spaces that are fluid
  • Platforms for you voice to be heard
  • Accessible platforms, where you can share knowledge and skills and take part in collaborative work.
  • Tapping into each others strengths
  • Share research

  • Have we felt empowered along the Journey?
  • How can we help other participants who are less engaged feel as empowered as the rest?
  • How do we feel about the role each of us have played in the core team? How can the dynamics be improved?

Trust

Trust is a foundational element for a group to function smoothly. But you need to be consistent with the members to get results.

  • ° Support each other while respecting other people’s decisions
  • ° Open up to your teammates if you feel left behind rather than dwelling on it yourself
  • ° Respect your commitments
  • ° Be empathetic, not pathetic, gurl
  • ° Trust yourself and you will be trusted

Trust

  • Make Slack more interactive (encouragement, questions, show interest in what other people do)ďż˝- Google docs: Weekly update

- Send visual media on Slack

(eg. 1 minute vine / Vlog )

- Facebook group to strengthen the bonds

18 of 21

Trust

  • Have we felt safe while sharing our opinions with the rest of the group? If not, how could we improve it and create a real safe space?
  • How much agency did we feel we had while creating the CXBB narratives?
  • What support did we feel we had or didn’t have throughout the Journey?
  • Have we felt informed?
  • How could we build a more inclusive Slack?
  • How can we create more spaces to meet up and ďż˝build social bond?

Nobody Left Behind

  1. Everyone should identify as a key member of the team, to build an inclusive society.
  2. We need to be a collaborative group that creates a community of friendship outside of “studio space”.
  3. Everyone should make the effort to be understanding and patient regarding our differences.
  4. Creating a safe space for our individual thoughts.
  5. Ensuring that there are holistic spaces to speak, encouraging equality so everyone is included, valued and respected.

Nobody Left Behind

  • How can we move the Studio forward having in mind everyone’s commitment and limited availability?
  • Can we all keep on committing to the weekly Wednesdays sessions as the main Studio meeting point?
  • How can we ensure that the experience feeds back to the courses instead of becoming an extra pressure?
  • Now that we’ve created the core group, how are we going to call more students and get a second wave of participants?
  • How can the Studio become a more inclusiveďż˝safe space?
