Що ховається за поняттям Present Simple?

Наприклад, що ми робимо в свій звичайний день? Прокидаємося, чистимо зуби, одягаємося, йдемо в школу, вчимо уроки, дивимося телевізор, граємо, лягаємо спати. Всі ці вчинки можна віднести до present simple, адже вони нам звичні і повторюються практично в один і той же час.

До речі, це час в англійській мові позначається певними словами-обставинами.

• always – завжди;
• often – часто;
• every day, week, month – кожен день, тиждень, місяць;
• usually – звичайно;
• sometimes – іноді;
• rarely – рідко;
• never – ніколи.

Дієслово to be (бути, існувати, знаходитися) – особливий і в часі Present Simple вживається в трьох формах:  am, is, are.

Вибір необхідної форми залежить від особи та числа підмета у реченні.

• I → am ( для 1-ї особи однини: я)

​

• He, She, It → is ( для 3-ї особи однини)

​

• We, You, They → are (для 1-ї, 2-ї та 3-ї особи множини)

Якщо дієслово закінчується на -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -o, тоді замість закінчення -s додається -es:
