Modification of the Statutes

Recall of the last General Assembly in Braga, Portugal on October 29, 2016

“New Head Office: Monaco

Because of the new location in Monaco, and the needs to become fully compliant with IAAF, our new statutes could be slightly modified: General Assembly needs to give a mandate to the President, to negotiate with IAAF and Monaco Principality

The new statutes final version shall be voted during the next General Assembly (June 2017)”

Since this last GA, negotiations with the IAAF did not allow us to finalize the establishment of the head office in Monaco, and we need to come back in Switzerland.

General Assembly is asked to give a mandate to the President to choose the best location, either the address of European Athletics if they agree to host us, either our ancient address at Paudex, 3 route du Lac.

ITRA Performance Index

  • The Performance Index:
  • aims to show the maximum speed of a runner
  • is calculated with the 5 best performances over the last 36 months
  • is independent of the race ranking

  • Ranking per category:
  • based on distance for the moment
  • could be based on age also

→ The Ranking Commission is working on integrating new parameters in the calculation (land type, technicity of the course, weather conditions, altitude…)

2 650 races registered in 2016

  • Race evaluation is only based on :
  • the distance
  • the elevation

Good gps tracks, made with appropriate devices, are better than routes made on cartography software…

...the measure is more accurate !

SAFETY - WHERE WE ARE TODAY

Provide all race organizers with Safety Guidelines.

  • Available for free on our website (in English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Korean)

Safety is an absolute priority

  • Some recent and dramatic events have underlined this necessity.

We need to quickly develop our ability to make sure that the guidelines are effectively respected by all race organizers.

SAFETY - OUR PROPOSAL

We need to educate organisers and runners about the safety:

1) by making video clips that present all the different aspects of safety

2) by proposing to the organisers a safety questionnaire

This form will permit to the organisers to detail their safety and rescue plan easily.

  • answers analysed by an expert software
  • automatic answers’ analysis to judge if the organisation deploys the minimum required feature

In case the automatic analysis won’t give a favourable answer, an expert will have a discussion with the organiser.

COOPERATING WITH THE IAAF

A more formal recognition of our association would give us a better legitimacy for our actions regarding health, safety and race quality...

...but the current situation is not an obstacle to work on trail-running development, through dialogue within all the players (runners, organizers, federations, brands…)
