Before you start

Quit Cubase/Nuendo

Run the installer first

The Installer will install:

​

  1. The latest version of MP MIDI Standalone app and VST3 Plugin.
  2. The Preset and Images for the Control Surface.
  3. The MIDI Remote Scripts for Cubase and Nuendo.

Run the MP MIDI standalone app before you start Cubase/Nuendo

STEP 01

Deselect ports in Cubase/Nuendo

Uncheck the boxes so that they are not being used by Cubase/Nuendo

(c1-xMP1 should also be disabled for IN and OUT)

IN

MP MIDI will be using as input port.

OUT

MP MIDI will be used as an output port.

STEP 02

Controller in Cubase/Nuendo

The control surface will initialize automatically if the MP MIDI is running.

Load up the MP MIDI app as a VST3 plugin

Close the MP MIDI standalone app and use the VST3 plugin in your project

NOTE

MP MIDI VST3 plugin vs Standalone app

You can run either the VST3 plugin or the MP MIDI standalone app (do not run both at the same time)

As you may have noticed, when you click outside Cubase (finder, file explorer etc) it hides all the Cubase windows except the project window.

When using the MP MIDI VST3 plugin, it is part of Cubase so it does not hide any Cubase windows. Therefore, it may suit your workflow better to use the MP MIDI VST3 plugin instead of the standalone app.

The plugin can be added on any track as it allows audio to pass through. Only one instance of the MP MIDI plugin should be used.

MP MIDI creates the virtual MIDI ports that are used by the control surface.

When the MP MIDI is not running (either the app or the VST3 plugin) Cubase/Nuendo cannot initialize the control surface.
