INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this project is to determine the criteria to be applied to the water used for swimming purposes other than swimming pools, to monitor, control and to prevent all kinds of microbiological pollutants by determining the water quality used, to prevent the increase of pollution.
METHOD
1. A SCADA system is set to measure the physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of Tarzan Bay in Fethiye. The parameters are measured with SCADA and the results are compared with the parameters that should be in the "Swimming Water Quality Regulation". The parameters are:
-Total amount of coliform, fecal coliforms, fecal streptococcus, salmonella, enteroviruses, pH, color, mineral oils, surfactants that react with methylene blue, total phenol, light transmittance, percent dissolved oxygen, tar residues and wood, plastics, bottles, glass rubber etc., other floating substances, ammonium, kjeldahl nitrogen, other substances that are seen as pollution indicators, pesticides, heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, total amount of cyanide, nitrate…)
2- Parameter measurements are recorded once a week for a year and an annual graph is created.
As the result of the graphic;
a) Test results of 95% of the samples taken should meet the Swimming Water Quality Regulation.
b) In all other cases; 80% of the samples for the total coliform and fecal coliform parameters, and 90% of the samples for the other parameters should provide the guide values in the table on page 6,
c) In cases where 5, 10 or 20% of the samples do not meet with the parameter values, if there is a maximum deviation of 50% from the values given in the relevant columns in each of the samples taken for the other parameters, (excluding the microbiological parameters, pH and dissolved oxygen parameters) they can be considered as appropriate quality criteria.
Precautions are taken for the parameters that do not meet the given criteria and the external factor that causes the pollution is tried to be stopped.
WHAT IS SCADA?
Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) is a system of software and hardware elements that enables industrial organizations to:
● Control industrial processes locally or in remote locations
● Monitor, collect and process real-time data
● Directly interact with devices such as sensors, valves, pumps, motors and more via human-machine interface HMI software
● Save events to a log file
SCADA systems are essential for industrial organizations as they help to maintain efficiency, process data for smarter decisions, and communicate system problems to help reduce downtime. The basic SCADA architecture includes programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or remote terminal units (RTUs) starts with. PLCs and RTUs are microcomputers that communicate with a number of objects such as factory machines, HMIs, sensors and end devices, and then route the information in these objects to computers with the SCADA software. The SCADA software processes, distributes and displays data; It helps operators and other workers analyze data and make important decisions.
