Today’s presentation is an introduction to Centennial’s new�Audio Library Guide (LibGuide)!

Why an Audio Library Guide?

Created to help the Centennial community find and use audio resources in our collection, in addition to audio content that is freely available online
Origin: Centennial’s UDL Advisory Committee

As a member of Centennial’s UDL Advisory Committee, I began thinking about how I can draw attention to our resources and their many formats
I started thinking about our Audio resources, something I had always been curious about
Quick, informal scan of college and university libraries’ content on Audiobooks – consisted of links to Audiobook collections in the library (requiring authentication), links to free online Audiobooks, and even links to the local public library’s online Audio collections
I’m my time at Centennial I’ve never received any requests to purchase Audio content
I knew we had the EBSCO Audiobook collection (currently migrating to Baker & Taylor) (which had some usage in the past year), but what else did we have? I wanted to find out.
This led to the creation of an Audio Library Guide, dedicated to providing members of our community information on how to find audio resources in our collection

What’s in the Audio Library Guide?

Limited to online Audio resources only -- Resources that are “born Audio” or can be read aloud. This includes:

What’s Next for the Audio Library Guide?

I will continue to update the Library Guide as we add audio content to the collection, and/or new freely-available resources become available
A “Suggest a Purchase” form is available on the guide – hopefully we will receive requests to purchase Audio content for our collection!
