Question Tags
Question Tags (розділові запитання) - це короткі запитання, які ставляться в кінці стверджувального речення.
Question Tags утворюються за допомоги допоміжних або модальних дієслів (auxiliary or modal verbs) речення і особового займенника (personal pronoun) в тій самій особі як і підмет.
Examples: John is a doctor, isn’t he?
Peter and Marion passed the test, didn’t they?
You can swim, can’t you?
Якщо речення є стверджувальним, то Question tag має бути в заперечній формі. І навпаки, якщо речення вживається у заперечній формі, то Question Tag має бути стверджувальним.
Examples: You have visited Egypt, haven’t you?
You haven’t visited Egypt, have you?
Ми вживаємо Question Tags:
Mr. Thompson is an English teacher, isn’t he? Yes, he is.
2. Коли ми впевнені в тому, що кажемо і очікуємо, що людина, з якою ми розмовляємо погодиться з нами. В цьому випадку тон нашого голосу опускається в низ.
Mr. Thompson is a very good teacher, isn’t he? Of course he is.

Question tag ми відокремлюємо від головної частини речення комою
