    • Brian Killough of CEOS SEO demonstrated Open Data Cube Sandbox Notebooks
    • Simone Mantovani of MEEO demonstrated ESA PGDS Data Cube and Time Series Data
    • Matt Paget CSIRO demonstrated Earth Analytics Interoperability Lab and its applications to Big Data Processing
  • Each session also hosted a panel discussion with other capacity development professionals speaking to their experiences training with Jupyter Notebooks

WGCapD-11, 23-25 Feb 2022

4 of 6

  • 288 total attendees (243 for Session 1, 45 for Session 2)
  • Was the first test application of the CEOS Webinar Toolkit
  • Of those that responded to the post-webinar questionnaire, 96% of respondents said they would find a CEOS Jupyter Notebooks best practice document useful (70 total respondents)
  • 87% said they would like a follow up training on an “Introduction to Jupyter Notebooks and Earth Observation Data”
    • Importantly, this initial webinar was offered as a set of demonstrations to gauge interest as opposed to a training on the fundamentals of how to use Jupyter Notebooks
  • 100% find a repository of training or application-specific notebooks useful

    • Though there was broad interest from the 2021 webinar questionnaire response, the initial task for this activity is to define the target audience
    • The format and platform of this activity is also under discussion a shorter form webinar may not be long enough or interactive enough to accomplish desired outcomes
  • Jupyter Notebooks Best Practices Document
    • Led by WGISS, WGCapD has an interest in helping define best practices for using notebooks as training/capacity building modality
    • Will be presented and discussed at next month’s WGISS-53 meeting (https://ceos.org/meetings/wgiss-53/)
