RCSD staff at the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit believe that maintaining a normal routine and continuing instruction help to alleviate the stress that can come from missing school.

With the consent of the parent/guardian, we will contact the student’s school counselor to inform them that the student will be absent for a few days and that school work can be sent directly to us via email. Students can begin instruction their first day on the unit, if ready.

Your child’s confidentiality and privacy are of the utmost importance to us.

How you can help:

Bring in any school work your child has at home. Backpacks and school bags can be given to the receptionist when you enter the unit. Encourage your student to attend school every day.

From the students:

“I am so thankful that the teachers would help me everyday. I love you guys so much!” C.C.

“You have been such a major role in my success here. If it weren’t for you, I’m not sure I would have passed too many of my classes; definitely not AP Gov.” P.V.

From a parent:

“Thanks to your work, (my son) has successfully finished his first week back at school, is caught up, and is back on track.”
