Lynsey LeMay

Geology Instructor and Coordinator of Center for Teaching and Learning at Virginia Peninsula Community College in Hampton, VA (2YC).

Teach introductory courses (physical geology, historical geology, and oceanography) primarily to non-majors, and the science program capstone course to Associates of Science students. Currently lead the Teaching and Learning committee, and faculty professional development initiatives. Served in leadership roles for other campus committees and initiatives (policy manual revisions, general education, assessment) and for geo organizations (NAGT, GSA).

Christy Visaggi

Principal Lecturer and Undergraduate Director in the Department of Geosciences at Georgia State University (GSU) in Atlanta, GA (a minority-serving institution).

Main responsibilities involve teaching undergraduates (non-majors and geosciences and pre-education students). Introductory to graduate level classes focused on geology, paleontology, STEM education, career preparation, and field-based courses. Campus lead on experiential education in the GSU Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning. Multiple leadership roles for different campus programs or organizations including NAGT (Past-President). Mentors grad/undergrad research students for fun. Also a mom!

Rebecca Beadling

Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA (R1 University).

Leads the Ocean Climate Connections research group where her research focuses on understanding global climate dynamics with a particular emphasis on the ocean’s role within the climate system. Mentors graduate & undergraduate students.

Teaches undergraduate / graduate courses focused on climate dynamics and climate change.
