Water Safety at
Pioneer Pool
Year 3s and 4s will eat lunch early before lunch play.
Please make sure to name ALL of your belongings, such as swimming bag, togs, towel, drink bottle, goggles, etc. , anything that you bring to Pioneer with you.
Teachers will take the roll in our Home Group space.
We walk quietly in pairs to the bus on Eastern Terrace.
On the bus, we show we care by listening to the teacher. We talk quietly and stay seated.
The bus will stop. We will wait for the teachers to tell us what to do.
We will carefully get off the bus. We will line up with our parent helpers.
The teacher will take the roll.
We will stay with our group and parent helpers at ALL times. Our parent helpers must be able to see us. We must be able to see them.
We will take turns to go for our water safety lesson. While we are waiting for our turn, we will play in the park with our teacher and parent helpers.
We will walk in our lines into the pool and go to the changing rooms.
We will change quickly, without talking. We keep our eyes only on ourselves.
We will put all our school clothes into our bag.
We will leave our towel on the top of the bag.
We carry our bags with us. Our swim teacher will tell us where to put our bags.
On the first day, we will be organised into swimming groups.
We will have our lesson in one of the pools
Our swim teachers will show us how to enter the pool safely.
After our lesson, we get our bags from the cubby and get changed VERY quickly. We stay quiet.
The teachers and parents will take us back to the courtyard. We will line up and wait silently until everyone is ready.
If it is sunny, we will get time to play on the playground, before or after our swim. We will listen to the teachers and stay where they can see us.
We get on the bus to go back to school. We sit facing the front. Remain seated until a teacher asks you to leave your seat.

1.00: Year 3 - Bus leaves.
1.30: Year 4 - Bus leaves.
2.30: Year 3 - Back at school.
3.00: Year 4 - Back at school.
