ArCH: Armenian Cultural Heritage is dedicated to the sustainable cultural development and protection of the cultural legacy of Armenians, both within Armenia and globally.

​

In promoting knowledge, ArCH aims to unite and enhance the efforts of all stakeholders, as a crucial strategy for the conservation and promotion of Armenia's endangered cultural treasures and contemporary artistic endeavors while highlighting the importance of awareness and academic collaboration in the face of global challenges.

GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK�

ArCH works in a continuous dialogue with main heritage organizations, connecting the world of Cultural heritage with the world of art jobs and crafts. It may shelter some local, national, and diaspora organizations.

The ArCH Council

​

is the decision -making group, it is made up of 17 members selected among ASOF fellows + 3 members ex officio from Governmental Institutions (Parliament, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sciences and Sport and Urban Development Committee

​

The Advisory Group

is a broad group of international experts, including representatives from government agencies, NGOs, Churches, Diasporan organizations that are consulted according to the needs

… IN THIS CONTEXT

The fragility of Armenian Cultural Heritage is evident but at the same time it is clear that its importance goes beyond the borders.

We should ensure the proper conservation of our heritage.

CULTURE SHOULD BE IN KEY POLICY PRIORITIES AND BE SUPPORTED BY AMBITIOUS BUDGETS

We should support our artists, heritage professionals and creators and foster a wide cultural ecosystem that guarantee compliance with the international standards, drives innovation, enhances well-being, and contributes to the fruitful integration of Armenia and the Diaspora.

Culture is the best support for social cohesion, defence policies, the green transition, AI regulations, trade, and external relations.

ArCH’s OBJECTIVES

1. Encourage academic research
2. Foster collaboration and create synergies to avoid duplication and/or replication of projects
3. Assist Armenian institutions in the creation, improvement, and implementation of effective legal and regulatory frameworks for cultural heritage protection and promotion,
4. Promote vocational training and school educational programs focused on culture
5. Ensure a scientific approach to the preservation of monuments and artifacts and improve local expertise in Armenia,
6. Ensure efficient allocation of resources to support the design, the funding, and the implementation of quality projects,
7. Enhance the global knowledge and appreciation of Armenian arts and culture
8. Facilitate the mobilization of those people who care and promote the involvement of civil society and the younger generations
9. Promote the natural attractiveness of territories and increase the quality of life of their inhabitants,
10. Promote artists and creative industry

Book Fairs: To build visibility and ensure future partnerships and collaborations ntroduce Armenian literary, publishing and cultural fields to relevant parties and negotiate future collaborations.

Translators Residency: To ensure quality translations, motivating new translators into languages that lack translations from Armenian using translators as mediators.

Invitation program: To bring professionals (key international publishers, festival curators, cultural journalists and other professionals) from around the world to Armenia.

Networking, visibility: Collaboration with other cultural organizations for creating exhibitions, theater and film screenings.

Based on principles of scalability, customizability, standardization, interoperability, and security.

Aimed to update and digitize existing records, attract all available information and extend to catalog Armenian cultural heritage globally.

ArCH and NAASR will ensure the quality of the project through a dedicated Scientific Committee and attentive monitoring of the project implementation and will guarantee the safety of data and perennity of their publication.

The database will be published online together with an

open-source book on the monuments of Artsakh

curated by ArCH for the Getty and handed over to the

Scientific Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage.

A project co-authored by local and international experts, coordinated by the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.

Implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture Science Culture and Sport with the Scientific Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage as the implementing agency.

Training on the yard for workers and restorers open to the workmen engaged with the restoration, volunteers and the restorers from the restoration laboratory of the Scientific Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage.

Study visits for the students of the Master in Monuments Preservation of NUACA.

Contribution in the integration of the price list for building works with prices for preservation works.
