Classroom/School Expectations

Students are expected to follow our CUBS Norms:

    • C Communicate Caring
    • U Uphold Integrity
    • B Behave responsibly and be safe
    • S Show respect to others

Rewards & Discipline

  • Rewards: Students will receive CUBS coins for positive behavior. Students who show exceptional behavior, or go above and beyond classroom expectations will be rewarded by receiving Jaguar Paw coupons to turn into the office for weekly rewards. All students who follow classroom procedures will receive verbal praise and recognition.
  • Discipline: If students are given too many warnings to follow our CUBS expectations, they will be asked to reflect and write about it. It may be accompanied by a minor referral with a loss of privilege. Please sign the reflection sheet and return it to me.
    • If a student’s behavior is more serious, it will lead to a major referral.
    • Mr. Schmitz will handle consequences for major referrals.

Homework:

  • Finish classroom assignments
  • Students need to read each day and write about it on Seesaw
  • Math practice will be on SplashLearn, Freckle, or ST Math
  • Homework will not be graded. Students will be rewarded with CUBS coins for practicing their reading and math.

**Charge chromebook & pack books**

Assignments:

  • It will be your child’s responsibility to keep track of assignments, and to make sure they are turned in at the appropriate time.
  • Part of the educational process is the development of independent study skills. It’s great to help your child, but please remember it is your child’s responsibility to complete all work.

  • Chromebooks:
    • Students must bring their Chromebooks and chargers to class daily.
    • Please make sure that Chromebooks are fully charged every morning.
    • Students should not be altering the settings on their chromebook.
    • Chromebooks are district managed devices and should only be used for educational purpose.
    • Keep it in a safe place away from food and liquid.
  • Electronic Devices in class
    • Cell phones and emergency watches must be turned off in class, and remain inside backpacks.

Attendance

  • Much of the instruction is oral (spoken) and it is difficult or impossible to make up. Please be sure to keep your child home only when necessary. Try to make doctor or dental appointments after school. If you need to have a morning appointment, please bring your child to school after the appointment.
  • If your child is absent, please send a message through Parent Square, or call the school office explaining the absence.
