WELCOME BACK AND MITIGATING FACTORS

  • As we welcome you all back, the following mitigating factors have been put in place to help ensure the safety of our students and staff.

      • Students will be required to wash hands and encouraged to use hand sanitizer throughout the school day.
      • Student desks will be sanitized between each class period.
      • The use of computer labs will be limited to an as-needed basis (ESL, Renaissance, etc) and students will be assigned computers that are 3 feet away from each other.
      • Limited transitions.
      • Face coverings are OPTIONAL. Parents are best equipped to decide whether or not their child should wear a mask.
      • Masks must have strap that is worn around the ears, Gaiters are not approved face coverings.

Nurse’s corner/FAQs

Some FAQ's:

  • NISD does not require masking. That remains optional and up to the parent to decide
  • Viral Illness policy has not changed. If your student is diagnosed with a viral illness, please email a copy of the result to sbruschk@needvilleisd.com and Mrs. Sbrusch will help you on the plan to return.
    • *Different symptoms/illnesses have different times for recovery. Please utilize email and the nurse will help you navigate your situation.
  • NISD requires a parent note or DR note to cover all days of absence.
  • NISD takes a symptom-based approach - we do not exclude for "close contact"
  • At home tests for any illness must be verified/validated by a physician, otherwise they are counted as a parent note.
  • More information can be found under the link
