WHY the STEM FAIR and WHO: All 4th-6th grade students are required to participate. Since we are our a STEM school, we want to encourage participation in STEM learning.

The STEM FAIR is a great opportunity for students. They may submit a project in science, or engineering, or computer science.

SIGN OFF CARDS

Sign off cards, get signed off by child’s teacher and then shown to me (Ms. B) for a prize. Once all 4 spots are signed, they turn in card to me for a ticket for a raffle drawing for a GRAND PRIZE!

PLEASE BE AWARE:

The Display and Safety Rules which we follow do not allow any part of the experiment to display. However, you can bring something you’d like to share and show it to your class or set it up in your classroom for others to see (if okay with your teacher)

No food or other objects can be part of the tri-fold.

You may take pictures and add those to your display.

You may not have food taped or glued to your display.

HELPING STUDENTS FIND A TOPIC

The most important thing is that students pick a question or problem that they really care about. If they do this, it will inspire them to do the work themselves. One good way to choose a topic is to look at the SEEd standards for that student's grade level and consider what questions they have or what problems they might want to solve related to those standards.

SCIENCE BUDDIES: another resources students can use to find a project idea. Note: (For 5th and 6th grade) they will need to make the project their own by changing some things to make it unique.

PAPERWORK

Paperwork is required of ALL students. Each student (even if they are in the same group), must have their own set of paperwork completed and signed.

** Please make sure students mark the correct category for their project:

** For 4th graders: just have them add 4th grade to paperwork since it’s not on there.
