Browsers Behavior

Known Browser Behaviors

Like all Instructure product features, contrary behaviors relating to browsers are prioritized by our product teams, and some behaviors in the previous version may not be resolved. If a behavior exists in the previous version of the browser that does not exist in the current version, the best solution is to update to the newest browser version.

The Safari browser does not support recording media.

Recording media in Studio or Canvas SpeedGrader is not supported in the Safari or Firefox browsers.

It is recommended to use Chrome.

Usernames and Passwords

  1. Usernames will be the same convention they've always been - first name + ID - with the exception that students with preferred names (following guidelines we've set forth before) will see their preferred name.
  2. Passwords will begin with an uppercase letter and follow the same format we've always had - Last name + zip code.
  3. Apostrophes are removed from first and last names.
  4. Hyphens are kept in last names
  5. Usernames and passwords will be the same for Destiny, Google and Clever.
