Riding the bus is a privilege. You must follow the rules for your safety and the safety of others. We would not like to have to remove you from the bus. These rules are made in the interest of safety of all students and drivers using these buses.

Discipline Management

1st referral – warning

2nd referral – 5 days loss of bus privileges

3rd referral – 10 days loss of bus privileges

4th referral – off the bus till the end of the semester or year

Routines and Procedures for staff & students entering, exiting and throughout the school day.

ALL visitors must Check-in at front office.

Scheduled interior & exterior door checks to ensure all are locked

Scheduled Emergency Drills (Fire Drills, Lock-out, Lock Down (2), & Shelter in Place

On-campus Security.

On-campus SRO (School Resource Officer).

Safety and Security

  • Regular school attendance is essential for the student to make the most of his or her education
  • A student absent from school shall provide a note (within five [5] days to the school attendance clerk) that describes the reason for absence.

***The note only excuses the absent, it does not take it away***

  • Student in the DeSoto ISD may not miss more than eight (8) days in the first semester and no more than nine (9) days in the second semester for courses computed on a semester basis or no more than 17 days in the school year for courses computed on a yearly basis.

Every room has an exit plan posted on the wall and an emergency folder near the door entrance.

FIRE: Monthly

Exit the building to a designated area

SEVERE WEATHER: February, March and April

Proceed to designated area

LOCKDOWN: Twice a semester

1. Turn off lights/computers

2. Gather hallway students

3.Lock doors (do not answer unless the lockdown has been lifted a police officer.)
