Proposed Solution:

  • The alert service portal provides data regarding adverse weather conditions and animal movement. We are collecting data using sensors, generating region wise reports and sending the report to tourists travelling to those regions. Upon receiving this data the user can take proactive decisions concerning safety of their travel

Brief Detail of Solution:

  • Once the user has registered into our website he/she should specify the destination and other details. All the user’s details will be stored in the database. The database collects information about animal moment and adverse weather conditions in multiple tourist destinations using DHT22 sensor, PIR(passive infrared radiation) sensor, Vibration sensor and rainfall sensors installed in different regions .The database also generates periodic region wise reports on adverse weather conditions and animal movement . If these conditions are not suitable for travel a user registered with that particular destination is notified using GPS map, alert messages, paw symbols, etc for further advancements.

Description of concepts or approach involved in the proposed solution

  • Real time data is collected from different locations using sensors and sent to the portal by using different sensors like

a. DHT22 sensor :-The DHT22 is a basic, low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor. It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor to measure the surrounding air, and spits out a digital signal on the data pin. It's fairly simple to use, but requires careful timing to grab data. The only real downside of this sensor is you can only get new data from it once every 2 seconds, so when using our library, sensor readings can be up to 2 seconds old.

b. PIR (Passive Infrared Radiation)sensor :-A PIR sensor is an electronic sensor that measures infrared (IR) light radiating from objects in its field of view. They are most often used in PIR-based motion detectors.

c. Rainfall sensor :-A rain sensor is a switching device activated by rainfall. There are two main applications for rain sensors. The first is a water conservation device connected to an automatic irrigation system that causes the system to shut down in the event of rainfall. The second is a device used to protect the interior of an automobile from rain and to support the automatic mode of windscreen wipers. An additional application in professional satellite communications antennas is to trigger a rain blower on the aperture of the antenna feed, to remove water droplets from the mylar cover that keeps pressurized and dry air inside the wave-guides.

MICROCONTROLLER

GSM Module :-GSM is a mobile communication modem; it is stands for global system for mobile communication (GSM). The idea of GSM was developed at Bell Laboratories. It is widely used mobile communication system in the world. GSM is an open and digital cellular technology used for transmitting mobile voice and data services operates at the 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz and 1900MHz frequency bands.

Description of the flow of operations demonstrating key features and functionality

  • The key feature is to send SMS.
  • Alert messages will be sent in the form of SMS to the users.
  • The alert messages are regarding adverse weather conditions and animal movement.
  • Further we can send GPS maps and we can show animal movement in the form of paw symbols.
