End of class 🡪Clean up all materials. Stay in your seat until dismissed. Do not line up at the door.

We will be working on reading, writing, and speaking according the NYS Learning Standards. Students will be reading many different types of literature, enhancing comprehensions skills through written responses, and verbally communicating ideas with peers.

Benchmark Assessments

  • Benchmark assessments will be given at beginning, middle, and end of the year.  Benchmark assessments are used to assess the skills students know coming into 6th grade and what specific skills they need to review or learn.  The end of the year benchmark will assess their growth.
  • Quarterly assessments will be administered after each quarter to assess what students have learned and what skills they still need help with.

Grading Policy:

  • Homework/Classwork/Class Notes 25%
  • Projects/Tests 30%
  • Quizzes 20%
  • Participation 25% (do nows/exit tickets, on time, prepared, on task)
