New Generation Pulse-Flush RO Systems - KSRO

Rotek was inspired by the KISS Principle when we designed the KSRO: KISS is an acronym for “Keep It Simple System” or “Keep It Simple Stupid” a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960. Simplicity was the key design goal, and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.

There are 3 major problems with conventional systems.1. required experienced operator to adjust the flow correctly when system is initially installed.

2. regulator valve changes the position everytime when system start-up, and if the flow is not adjusted back correctly which could cause membrane fouling.

3. it is nearly impossible to determine the actual reason that caused for membrane fouling without hourly operational log.

KSRO - Key Advantages

  • Designed for simple and reliable operation with only One Power Button to operate.
  • Automatic high-frequency Pulse Flush that replaces the need for conventional concentrate flow regulation.
  • Compact Size and weight for easy transportation.
  • ROTEK XL-4040 membranes deliver the Largest Flow on the market.
  • Patented ROTEK C-5TM RO Controller with adjustableflush time for recovery rate adjustment.
  • Upgradable with Wifi RO controller.
  • No regulation valves to avoid Misoperations from users.
  • 65% Fixed Recovery Rate
  • HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY
  • SIMPLER OPERATION
  • LOWER OPERATION COST

What is Pulse Flush ?

It is the key feature that allows KSRO to be operating at a 100% recovery rate during the production cycle. During the flush cycle, the flush valve opens before the saturation of concentrated water reaches the level when soft water or antiscalants can’t prevent the scale formation anymore. Moreover, the sudden change of flow velocity across the membrane surface in such a short period of time causes water hammers that also help to shake off the foulants on the membrane surface in order to keep the membrane clean for a longer period of time.

Can KSRO replace the design of traditional RO?

KSRO is designed specifically for XL-4040 membrane to maximize its value.KSRO is not designed to replace the need of traditional RO, but it can provide below benefits

  • Can be installed and operate by None RO experienced plumber.
  • Can be more focused on the pretreatment design for extending the life span of RO membrane
  • Provides largest flow within the minimum space
  • Reduce the size of pre-treatment requirement, due to less water needed during production cycle.

Pre-Treatment Strategies

Membranes generally can be clogged by organic matters and inorganic matters. The application of KSRO are installed mostly with municipal tap water as raw water, where organic matters are already been treated and only inorganic matters are the risk for membrane scaling.

Thanks to the pulse flush design on KSRO, which allows pre-treatment size to be 50% smaller compared withthe conventional ROs.KSRO4000 can be equipped with the following stages for pretreatment1. GAC in 20” BB Filter Housing2. Carbon Block in 20” BB Filter Housing3. Polyphosphate in BB 20” Filter Housing
