Methodology and Target Group: �

The research studied small businesses globally in March 2023. Businesses surveyed ranged from solopreneurs (no employees) to small businesses (up to 50 employees).

It was conducted in partnership with research firm Advanis.

Digital Index – scoring categories

DIGITAL PIONEERS – Highest ranking level of digitization. Show considerable affinity with the digital world, including social media, online sales, and marketing activities 

DIGITALLY SETTLED – They have reached a medium level of digitalisation and are well equipped with technical devices, collaboration tools and security services. However, despite their good digital infrastructure, they are still rather reserved when it comes to embracing digital marketing 

DIGITAL STARTERS – They are convinced of the benefits of digitalisation, but are not yet very well equipped 

DIGITAL SKEPTICS – The lowest ranking level of digitization. They show less commitment to digital issues and invest less in technical equipment
