Multilingual keywords

Centralised keyword dictionaries in 6 languages (EN, IT, DE, FR, NL, PL, ES) for work mode, seniority, contract type, and skills.

Multi-currency salaries

Detected EUR / GBP / PLN by country code, then converted to EUR using fixed exchange rates for cross-country comparison.

🏷️

Job title noise

Regex normalisation: removed language-specific suffixes (f/h, h/f, als, deine chance), then assigned 15+ job categories by keyword matching.

Around 7K URLs to scrap

Sleep in 2s to load full webpage and not being detected as bots

Scripts running for hours that didn’t gave good results

✅ How We Fixed It

• Ignored in scrap descriptions > 500 char when restarting scrap

• Created checkpoints to save progress

• Converted external URLs into Adzuna ones so they can be scrapped

CONCLUSIONS

Was Our Hypothesis Supported?

✅ Largely Supported — France, UK & Germany lead in volume; SQL & Python are universal. Switzerland, Germany and Netherlands top opportunities.

Insights

• France posts the highest DA volume in Europe, also per million inhabitants

• UK offers the highest opportunities

• SQL & Python appear in >40% of all postings

• Remote is the dominant work mode in most countries (when disclosed)

• Senior and intern dominate; Junior positions are scarce

Next Steps

• Automate weekly data refresh via scheduled pipeline

• Add salary normalisation for cost-of-living

• Expand to more job titles (Data Engineer, Data Scientist)

• Build an interactive Streamlit / Tableau dashboard

• Add more job APIs to get a deeper understanding
