    • History: One event started in Columbus, OH in 2005 by Cardiologist Dr. David Sabgir now extends to over 600 programs in 47 states and 43 countries.
    • Remind everyone when your next Walk will be and thank them for coming.
  • Know your route and communicate with your participants.
  • Conduct post-walk survey with participants.

Volunteer Duties:

Physicians

Spread the word

As a physician, grow your local chapter by inviting patients, friends, and colleagues to walk with you. To make it easy, we provide ready-made prescription pads, flyers, and social media posts for you to use!

Attend monthly events

Once a month, grab your sneakers and Walk with a Doc apparel to spend 1 hour walking and talking with your community. Here’s how a typical event plays out:

  • Open with a 5-8 minute health talk. We’ll provide samples like this for you to use, but feel free to choose any healthy-living subject you like!
  • After the health talk, walk with your community members and get to know them for the remainder of the hour.
  • Rinse and repeat monthly!

Invite your physician colleagues to lead the Walk event from time to time. This can be a great way to involve other specialties!
