2 of 32

  1. Read Genesis 25:1-19. It tells of the final years of Abraham’s life. Abraham lives to be 175 years old. He had many sons, but all he owns is left to Isaac.

  • In our lesson today, Isaac is now a very old man. He has two sons. The promises given to Abraham will be passed to Isaac’s first-born son.

  • Study and learn how family troubles between the brothers change God’s plans.

  1. Family Troubles. They go all the way back to Bible times. Jacob and Esau stole from each other. Sometimes we don’t treat our family members in the best way.
  2. Through it all, God stays with us. Even in troubling times. God offers forgiveness and a new start.
  3. God is in our relationships with our family, friends, and church family. We try to follow his example. When we fall short, God is there to pick us up. He forgives us. He will bless our relationships, both spiritual and physical.
