September 24, 2023 (WEEK 45 OF CHURCH FORMATION)
LORD’S DAY WORSHIP
Today, enjoy a deep relationship with God. That is how we rest.
Without it, you are just practicing religion, which Jesus came to denounce.
Praise
Worthy of It All
Worthy of It All
Forever
The moon and stars they wept
The morning sun was dead
The Savior of the world was fallen
Forever
His body on the cross
His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse upon Him
Forever
One final breath He gave
As Heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness
Forever
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken
Forever
The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Forever
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King
Has rendered you defeated
Forever
Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive
Forever
The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Forever
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King
Has rendered you defeated
Forever
Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive
Forever
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome
Forever
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome
Forever
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome
Forever
Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive
Forever
Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, may Your name be kept holy. May Your Kingdom come soon. May Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.For the Kingdom and all the power and glory belong to You forever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
Scripture Reading Principles
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
2We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne.
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
3Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won't become weary and give up. 4After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
5And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said, "My child, don't make light of the LORD's discipline, and don't give up when he corrects you. 6For the LORD disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child."
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
7As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? 8If God doesn't discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all.
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
9Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn't we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever? 10For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God's discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness.
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
11No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it's painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. 12So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
13Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong. 14Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
15Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.
Hebrews 12:1-17 (NLT)
16Make sure that no one is immoral or godless like Esau, who traded his birthright as the firstborn son for a single meal. 17You know that afterward, when he wanted his father's blessing, he was rejected. It was too late for repentance, even though he begged with bitter tears.

Called vsDesire-to-be-Average-Joes
Thanks God and others for pointing out sin in their lives. | Hates to hear they are living a life of sin and to turn to God. |
“Show me, Teach me, Guide me, Lead me, Change me, God!” | “Leave me alone. I’m fine.” “Don’t you see I (do) ______” |
God will beat you up to be holy. | God will leave you alone. |
“God wants me to be better” “God wants you to be better” | “You are like me” “You are called to be average” |
Why do people feelthey are not called today?
SinAddictionsDemon-possession
So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. Romans 1:24
"All things are lawful," but not all things are helpful…not all things build up. 1Co 10:23
Getting Out of Addictions
Recognize: Let God show you how much it is hurting you… repent.
Go to God: Ask God to help you.
Walk Together: Seek accountability. Agree on a plan together.
Trust God and Fight: Look up to the great calling God has given you
1…let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.
You can go to Him as you are.You can go to one another to point you up.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 (NLT)
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16 (NLT)
