Hello! My name is Rachael Lehman and I am the Reading Specialist at Ida Freeman. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary and Early Childhood education from Southern Nazarene University and my Masters of Reading Instruction from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I have been in education for 27 years, teaching first and second grades in Oklahoma City Public schools, and most recently in Bethany Public Schools. I am passionate about structured literacy instruction and helping students become confident, strong readers.
I have been happily married to my husband Brandon for 25 years. We have two children, Marley and Max. Marley is completing her last year of nursing school and my son is heading to UCO for his freshman year this fall. I also have two cats, Cookie and Kiwi. In my free time I love to read historical fiction, memoirs, and cookbooks. I also love to garden, bake, and hike. I’m so excited to be a part of the wonderful Ida family and look forward to serving students this year!
