POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVE

• Tính từ sở hữu thể hiện tính chất sở hữu của người hoặc vật với danh từ đi sau nó. Tính từ sở hữu tùy thuộc chủ sở hữu.

POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVE

• Tính từ sở hữu tùy thuộc vào chủ sở hữu chứ không phải danh từ đi đằng sau nó. Vì vậy, dù đằng sau nó là danh từ số nhiều hay số ít, nó cũng chỉ có một dạng thức.
• Example: Our children / Our friends (NOT ours friend)
• Dùng His cho đàn ông và Her cho phụ nữ.
• Example: Bill and his wife / Hillary and her husband
• Tính từ sở hữu của con vật hoặc sự vật thì dùng Its
• Example: The cat wags its tail (Con mèo vẫy đuôi)

POSSESSIVE CASE

• Sở hữu cách là một cách khác để diễn tả quyền sở hữu của những danh từ.
• For example:
• Jimin’s father: Bố của Jimin
• JK’s smile: nụ cười của JK
• Dùng “’s” hay “s’”?
• Dùng ’s cho một chủ sở hữu: My brother’s school/ My brother’s friends (= I have one brother)
• Dùng s’ cho nhiều hơn một chủ sở hữu: My brothers’ school/ My brothers’ friends (= I have at least two brothers)
