Example:

  • Heraclitus - suggests that rivers carry bits and pieces down its path but they are never where they once were. When Heraclitus is rescued he notices that everything has shifted and changed.

Death

  • In baptism we see death and rebirth through water
  • Some people commit suicide due to tragic events that have occured in their life
    • Soldiers with PTSD
    • LIttle boy that drowns himself
    • Greys Anatomy
      • Meredith Grey walks into the water and drowns herself in the lake in the episode with the shipwreck, Derick saves her
      • Attempts to drown herself in her bathtub, but Derick pulls her out again.
      • In this situation Derick is Meredith’s literal saving grace, he is her happy place
  • Near death situations can also save lives
  • People don’t think death is the end; they simply believe that death is the beginning of a new life
