Current Situation

As you have heard, there have been things happening in our community and at Albany High School.

Objective of today’s presentation is to:

  • Review our expectations in and out of school
  • Discuss ways you can be safe out in the community
  • Discuss what you can do

  • Be open-minded and accepting
  • Be kind/ respectful to others
  • Keep your hands and your feet to yourself

Ways to Stay Safe

  • Walk on sidewalks
  • Follow traffic rules and signs

  • Walk with a friend
  • Stay away from large crowds
  • Keep your phone in a safe place, and don’t walk and text at the same time

What Can You Do?

Tell an adult immediately if:

  • Something happened to you
  • You had an experience or saw something that made you feel uncomfortable or scared
  • You have information that could help

Call 911

If you feel you are in an unsafe situation, call 911.

Things to say:

“I need help.”

“I am hurt” or “I am not hurt”
