NFT M.E.

NFT M.E. is Emergeast’s inaugural online NFT exhibition curated by renowned NFT artist

Ali Sabet. The exhibition will go live on Tuesday, 23 November, 2021 on OpenSea.io.

Showcasing a wide variety of NFT artworks, NFT M.E. offers a glimpse into fine art NFTs. Detailing growth, feminism and socio-cultural themes, the highly curated works in the exhibition showcase dynamic NFTs by the Middle East’s prolific digital artists, heralding the beginning of this digital revolution.

As a natively online company, this NFT exhibition is an extension of Emergeast’s core belief in the power of technology and art and the innovative opportunities it brings to both artists and collectors alike. With this exhibition, Emergeast aims to make NFTs accessible to young collectors, while also guiding the traditional art collectors looking to expand their collection with NFTs that are here to stay.

This is only just the start of building a friendly and accessible curation of NFTs guiding collectors into this new mode of art collecting and self expression.

Join the Digital Revolution.

Fusing both cultural heritage and blockchain technology, CarpETHereum symbolises one of the many ways digital art has reached a new era. Here stands the diamond shaped Ethereum symbol (where most NFTs are stored) adorned in a Persian carpet.

“This piece is a cumulation of our motherland and the immediate aeon. This specific design which originated from Kashan, demonstrates the traditional and classic Persian carpet arrangements that stand for the highest and finest craftsmanship. We believe that NFT is a culture and we are here for it.”

M Smart

Inspired by the menace of thought and the roars of deep belly laughter, Smart is known for his depiction of a unique world created by his mind - a world whose inhabitants exist in their rawest form. Smart's art bursts with paradoxical themes of aliens and apocalyptic life juxtaposed with warm colours creating a satirical blend of two worlds that leaves the viewer to use their imagination and interpretation.

Amelia Hadouchi

Inspired by positivism, well being and nature, Amelia Hadouchi’s works oftentimes transport the viewer on a mental voyage.

“This work represents our society and how distractions from the "essential" are always showing up. This creation is a reminder that we can always ''exit'' those distractions to go to ''source''. Hence why the only items that are moving are from nature & spirituality.

This scene represents the need for connection as human beings and technology, sometimes, getting in a way of that connection.”

Through her collage art, Beya Khalifa creates a state of perpetual fantasy. Kitsch and Orientalism are cheekily repurposed to reflect our weird, wonderful, and whimsical world.

Beya explains, “This collage is an attempt to examine the space where our bias and the internal lives of the photographed subjects meet. Have our preconceived notions and tendency to exoticize what is "other" irreversibly tainted the narratives of that which we are unfamiliar with? Or do those narratives - and the people they belong to - exist, brightly and defiantly, despite our best attempts at painting them with the same brush?”

Farbod’s artworks are a one-of-a-kind combination of his theoretical understanding of architecture and geometry with digital art. Farbod explains, “This artwork is inspired by art in Qajar Era in Iran and the portrait of Fath Ali Shah and the story of the little prince. The King has left earth to look for utopia in space. To put it another way, we can say the man is the king of his own land.”

Like its physical predecessors, this work is an invitation to go beyond the surface of the 2D visual and into some sort of infinity. Exploring the tension between order and chaos, Sasan Nasernia has expanded his practice in Persian classical and modern calligraphy to different mediums that range from painting and print to digital work and installation.

Through his signature calligraphy work, Sasan immerses elements taken from traditional Persian painting and iconography into a world of abstraction and ambiguity.

"Everyone is so afraid of Death, but the real Sufis just laugh: nothing tyrannizes their hearts. What strikes the oyster shell does not damage the pearl."- Rumi

“Death is an unknown experience for human beings. In so many religions, Death is a transition to mortal life.

Death is a part of life. It is a transition to eternal life. So it could be beautiful and meaningful, but it is not the end. It is beautiful destruction. It is a beginning, a beginning of eternity.”

The central figure in the piece is that of an imagined ancestor, a woman living hundreds of years ago in the mountains of South Lebanon.

Hage’s recent work has centered on matrilineal transmission of identity, composed through the use of textile and archive photography. In this piece imagination and daydreaming take over from archival research. However, the connection to textile remains, with the patterns having been composed from the photographic digitization and manipulation of a single polyester shirt the artist picked up in a London charity shop during a particularly hopeful time.

This work breathes life into a synthetic fabric picked up in a new hometown by connecting it to an almost unknowable personal past.
