Noel Night History & Overview
Now celebrated as the one of biggest shopping days of the year, Noel Night began in 2002 as a response to the Missionary Ridge Fire and the repercussions this disaster had on our local, independent businesses. Since then, this well-loved community event continues to have an enormous impact on our local economy and overall community well-being.
Noel Night is hosted by Local First and presented by First Southwest Bank. This family-friendly event is a community-wide celebration kicking off the holiday shopping season and encouraging folks of all ages to shop, eat, and love local during the holidays. Enjoy special offers, live music and entertainment, festive events, and treats crafted just for you.

FAQ for Attendees
FAQ For Attendees
Q. Where can I find wheelchair-accessible parking?
Durango has several designated parking spaces for persons with disabilities and who need the extra space to load and unload a mobility device, such as a wheelchair. Those accessible spaces are located in each of the City’s parking lots and on the west side of main on the side streets. All vehicles parked in these designated spaces must display a state-issued license plate or placard provided to qualified persons with disabilities to park in these reserved parking spaces.
Some of these spaces have designated time limits which must be obeyed, or the vehicle can receive a citation. The City allows persons with a properly displayed placard or plate to use any metered spaces for an unlimited time without paying the meter. More details about that policy are available here.

Tips For a Low-Waste Event
Low-Waste Event Tips from Durango Sustainable Goods
1. Heads Up: In your invitation email or flyer let your guests know this is a low-waste event and to kindly bring their own mug, spork, and bowl.
2. Menu considerations + Dinnerware: When serving food, make sure it’s finger food that doesn’t require a fork or plate. If you do need forks and plates, go to your local 2nd hand shop and grab 10-20 forks and small salad plates.
3. Straws: Either don’t offer plastic straws with drinks or purchase metal or bamboo straws for your guests.
4. Think ahead and brand your event: Purchase 20-30 inexpensive metal cups and add your logo! Offer these cups to guests for beverages when people forget to bring their own mug. These too can be added to your metal bin and taken home to sanitize for your next small event.
5. Compost: Bring your compost bin from home for any leftover event food scraps.
6. Clean Up: Bring a metal bin for all dirty reusables to go in. At the end of the night, all reusables can be taken home and sanitized in your dishwasher then put back in the bin for your next small event.
