Attacks on 9/11: 4 planes that were involved. -Two crashed into the twin towers

-One into the pentagon

-One was aimed at the White House but was overthrown by the passengers and crashed in a field.

-Hijackers of the plane were affiliated with Al-Qaeda and were Muslims.

-Thus started the stereotype that all Muslims are affiliated with Al-Qaeda

9/11 had major impacts on the United States and our nationalism. Some people would say that it united our nation, others would say it tore it apart.

Religious issues

In the video, we see americans claiming muslims to be dangerous to their community. They also say that if the mosque is built they will be one step closer to taking over the american government. They also protest the building of the new mosque saying that if built, the muslims will then try to enforce saril law upon them. The muslim mosque also does not have near the funding the neighbored christian churches do. Hate and distrust was displayed towards the religious group when american protesters crowded the public square to go against the building of the muslim mosque.

Question 3

In the video, the people of Murfreesboro were split by the creation of a Mosque. People against it claimed that it was a place to plot against America, and would be a public danger. --Where do you think these claims originated from? Why?

Muslims and media after 9/11

After 9/11 the view of muslims and their culture changed significantly. Hate crimes toward muslim americans increased by 1,700 percent. Many Muslim americans were blamed and labeled as terrorists despite their own personal affiliation with 9/11. Muslims were met with negative comments and rude racial and religious slurs. Muslim children at public schools were also bullied.
