PTO Mission Statement

PTO Mission Statement

The Griffith Thomas PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) is an organization whose purpose is to strengthen and enhance the educational and social environment of Thomas Elementary. Our goals are to complement the school curriculum with opportunities for parents, teachers and students to foster social connections that build a strong and inclusive environment for Thomas families to thrive.

PTO 24/25 Goals

• Fundraise: Provide purposeful fundraising to support programs and events at Thomas Elementary School.
• Socialize: Be inclusive and engage new and current Thomas families by promoting strong family centered social activities.
• Commitment: Dedication to the success and well being of Thomas students
• Collaboration: Be in partnership with parents and teachers to meet the needs of Thomas students
• Respect: Value each individual contribution from members, faculty, and volunteers to collaboratively achieve our goals.

Current PTO Account Balances-

• Savings - $23,769.66

Socials-Trunk or Treat

• Friday, October 25th from 6:00-8:00 pm
• DJ, Food Trucks (Tacomania, Kona Ice), Contests
• Feed the Monster-starts 10/1
• Donate bags of candy or goodies (ex: glow sticks, erasers)
• Donation box will be located in the vestibule
• Be on the lookout for sign ups to do a trunk or to volunteer (setting up/decorating the commons)

Harvest Room Party Last Year

Last year’s parties included: mummy wrap with streams, ghost cup stacking, ghost hunter, pumpkin bowling, a gratefulness chain, McDonalds apple slices & cookies, among other things.

Party In A Box is Back! Every Class Gets A Party!

Goal: To have grade specific parties with snack, gratefulness activity and games/crafts.

​

Sign up here to join the planning meeting / committee.

​

Sign ups for Box Assembly Night and Room Volunteers coming in early October.

​

Harvest Room Parties will be Friday Oct. 25th.

​

All party materials and instructions will be in the box. Up to 3 parent volunteers per room.

​

Planning Meeting: Tuesday Sept. 17 @ 6:30 pm at the Starbuck on Frantz Rd.

School Supply - sold 183 school supply kits with a profit of $367.07

​

Fall Mum sale - 8/20/24 through 9/24/24 which was extended to 9/11/24. The mums will be available for pick up on 9/18/24 from 4 pm to 6:30 pm. We are in need of volunteers to help to unload and distribute

Thomas Tigers Read-A-Thon

Fall Fundraiser will be a Read-a-Thon

Kicks Off on 9/20/24 and ends on 10/11/24
