Grounds Team Continues to Go Green
South Huntington Schools continues its efforts to go green with blowers, weed trimmers, hedge trimmers, mowers.
This year we are also adding an electric zero turn mower to our fleet. With impressive uptime, these ZERO - TURN MOWERS will keep the crews working without the need to recharge mid-day under normal conditions, eliminating the need for gas and lowering our maintenance costs. These mowers are estimated to return a year over year savings of $8,000 dollars in fuel and maintenance.
The Grounds Team is eager to start using the new equipment on a daily basis. Facilities hopes that piloting this new electric zero-turn mower will lead the District into an eco - friendly cost savings future.
